Discovery Segment:

We've discovered that the majority of dresses and tops sold by brands today are sourced from a select few manufacturers. Different brands sell the same garments but use clever marketing strategies to create a unique brand identity and emotional appeal.

During our research phase with TrendyThread, we learned that very few dress brands design their own garments. In the lower price range, under $100, dresses (or garments) are usually mass-produced rather than uniquely designed.

We identified the manufacturers used by well-known brands and compared their products with dresses and tops from Aritzia, Hello Molly, Lucy in the Sky, Windsor, Pretty Little Thing, Oh Polly, Nasty Gal, Lulus, ASOS, Boohoo, Topshop, and Yesstyle. Surprisingly, we were able to match 80% of these garments. This means that most large brands are simply adding their brand name to dresses and tops that are designed and manufactured elsewhere, and consumers are essentially paying for the brand's marketing.

TrendyThread's approach is to sell the EXACT SAME garments as these popular brands but at a price closer to the manufacturing cost. This strategy aims to provide the latest fashion trends in a more affordable and sustainable way, ensuring broader access to stylish clothing.
